Bright Star Touring Theatre of Arden, NC presents:

Freedom Songs: The Music of Black History

“This hit musical revue is one of our most sought after productions. Join our energetic actors in this entertaining musical revue of Black History! From the work songs of slavery (“Hoe Emma Hoe”) and the hymns of the Underground Railroad (“Follow the Drinking Gourd”) to the blues of Beale Street and the anthems of the Civil Rights Movement, music has always been an integral part of our nation’s past. In this production, our actor/singers tell the stories behind these famous and forgotten hymns, work songs and musical styles while sampling songs that spread across continents, genres and centuries.”   (http://www.brightstartheatre.com/tour/tour-2018-01-11/)
